Our friends at BBL Operating have just announced TD for our brand new Buda limestone, horizontal re-entry @ ~9k’ depth and below the Eagle Ford… Originally a Marathon well with previous efforts in the Austin Chalk, just above the Eagle Ford. The lateral made it out a very sweet looking mile, despite a few geological dips and modest faulting to get across. We’re @ TMD 13,328′. Quoting BBL, “(Perhaps) part of the reason we could get so far out in this well may be because there is a large amount of oil lubricating the hole…” I know that their directional team really stayed in the play’s sweet spot on the horizontal way out, no easy task. Kudos to BBL, because every few wells in the College Station area have made it out over 4k’ laterally. Hook’em… i.e., including hook’em up & let it flow (no disrespect to the Aggies).
