Lightsey’s abundant Buda pressure is right dilemma

While we have noted intense bottom-hole pressures throughout the drilling of the Lightsey Re-entry well, a “pill” of weighted mud has efficiently guarded against the pre-production danger of blow out.  A 2000′ column of 40,000 pounds of 17# mud–up from 9# originally–is containing pressure in our 7′ casing until everything’s fully hooked up for production.  This mud program is technically refined so as to prevent it from subsequently interfering with the producing formation, but the abundant pressure nicely “shows” good things ahead.
