Upstream newspaper reports (4/18/2014) US gas reserves down 7.5%

Further price support in briefly diminished reserves?  US Energy Information Agency “expects those reserves to rebound in its 2013 report due to higher natural gas prices.” (Noah Brenner, Upstream 4/18/2014, p. 43)

Upstream also reports mid-Appalachian’s (PA, OH, WV, etc.) Marcellus shale play has now surpassed Texas’ Barnett shale as largest shale gas play.   Of course, our entry into Buda continues our tradition of opportunism, having reallocated capital from the sale of Eagle Ford rights and acreage above it.  Eagle Ford, btw, has now “surpassed (North Dakota’s) Bakken as the largest tight oil play by reserves in the country.” (ibid)
